Professor Dr. Nor Haniza Sarmin

Professor of Mathematics in the Department of Mathematical Sciences, Faculty of Science, UTM

Dr Nor Haniza Sarmin (Prof Niza) is a Professor of Mathematics at the Faculty of Science, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) Johor Bahru, Johor.

She received her BSc (Hons), Master and PhD in Mathematics from State University of New York (now known as Binghamton University), Binghamton, New York, USA. Her specialization of research is in Group Theory, Graph Theory, Formal Language Theory, Splicing Systems, and Their Applications. She has written more than 500 research papers in national and international journals and proceedings, mainly in the area of group theory and splicing systems. She has also supervised and graduated 36 PhD students, 25 masters students and 83 undergraduate students under her supervision. This includes the Youngest PhD Holder in Malaysia Book of Record 2014, Dr Hazzirah Izzati Mat Hassim.

Prof Niza has secured more than 20 research grants as the Leader and more than 25 as a collaborator. She was holding the position of the Head of Postgraduate Department in Faculty of Science from 2007-2012, the Deputy Dean in the School of Graduate Studies UTM from 2012-2016, the Director (Global Education and Student Experience) in UTM International from April 2016 – 31 March 2018 and later the Associate Director (Student Services and Global Education Experience) from 1 April 2018 – 14 August 2019. Now she is holding the post of the Associate Director (Global Strategy and Engagement) starting from 15 August 2019 until 31 December 2022.In the area of internationalization, Prof Niza has attended and presented talks/papers in many Higher Educational Institutions (HEI) seminars, conferences and exhibitions which include NAFSA, Eurie, APAIE, APSSA, SHARE, AIMS, QS-Apple, Going Global and AIEC.

Ts. Dr. Norazah Mohd Suki is a Professor of Marketing and E-Commerce at Othman Yeop Abdullah Graduate School of Business (OYAGSB), Universiti Utara Malaysia. She strives in the academic field with various achievements in academics and co-curricular activities. She is the recipient of Malaysia’s Research Star Award 2018 (MRSA Award), Highly Commended Paper in the 2017 Emerald Literati Network Awards for Excellence, Highly Commended Paper in the 2015 Emerald Literati Network Awards for Excellence, Winners of the IGI Global Seventh Annual Awards Excellence in Research Journal, etc.  She is the sole recipient of UUM to receive a research grant under the Fundamental Research Grant Scheme – Malaysia’s Research Star Award (FRGS-MRSA) 2018.  Additionally, she is also the recipient of Anugerah Tokoh Penyelidik Universiti Malaysia Sabah (Social Sciences) in 2015. Her research interests include marketing research, consumer behaviour, M-commerce, E-commerce, E-marketing, green marketing, Islamic marketing, and areas related to marketing. She has mentored several post-graduate students, published more than 300 papers in referred journals, book chapters, books, and conference papers detailing her research activities, on top of coordinating and participating in several research projects. Moreover, she is also the editor of several SCOPUS indexed books. She has wide-ranging experiences as an invited speaker on courses related to Structural Equation Modelling (SEM), Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) and research methodology. With her active participation in the co-curricular activities of Pasukan Siswa Angkatan Pertahanan Awam Malaysia, in 2017 she has been awarded the Pingat Am Pertahanan Awam by Angkatan Pertahanan Awam Malaysia.

Muhammad Imran Qureshi is a Doctor of Management from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. His doctorate research focused on the work practices for sustainable manufacturing under Socio-technical systems context. He is currently working as a senior lecturer in Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM). He is also founding Director of Connecting ASIA research network. He has ten years of teaching experience in the field of Operations Management, Strategic Management, Project Management, Total Quality Management, Statistical Process Control, Environmental Management, Logistic and Supply Chain Management, Production Management and Operations Research, Statistics and Data Analysis. He is a professional trainer for data analysis. He has conducted several workshops on Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) using AMOS and SMART PLS, qualitative data analysis using NVIVO. On the research side, his research profile consists of more than 100 research publications in renowned journals. He has written several impact factor publications with world-renowned publishers like ELSEVIER and SPRINGER in the area of Operations Management, Environmental Management, Sustainability and Organizational Behavior. His work has been cited extensively with 26 i10 index and h index 16. He is also the author of three books.
